Alcoholics Anonymous

January 19, 2015 by webadmin

Just a little rant about the AA program. Whether members want to admit it or not, it is a religious program and involves religious indoctrination of a vulnerable group. It’s unconstitutional to require someone to attend AA as a stipulation of probation, yet it’s still widely practiced.

Thank you for pointing out these repulsive lies AA and NA both use. I
cringe with disgust every time I hear “constitutionally incapable of being
honest” . The fact is, you are no better off in one of these programs than
quitting on your own. It is brainwashing. The nose ring does suit you
very well, and your individualism is the most important thing about you.
AA and NA are right there, waiting to strip you of your thoughts: calling
any original thought sin, and trying to replace your thoughts with that of
another, clean and sparkly, godly kind. Fuck that.

I am currently in A.A., and it does work for me. What I do not support is
anybody being forced into a program against their will. It never works. Due
to my past foolishness, I was forced into other types of treatment programs
that did not work on me either.

The book is a load and it’s what they quote and use as a “spiritual”
yardstick. That should tell you to stay clear of the cult. The people who
show the most growth leave AA far behind. That’s a fact.

You do know that Wilson, the founder, was a troll who thirteen stepped
newcomers while he was married don’t you?

thank you for the video. I have been going to AA for 6 months. I am an
atheist and 8 of the 12 steps are directly related to belief in God. It’s
all just a big way for people to feel better, since they don’t have to take
responsibility for themselves. They literally ask God to remove their
weaknesses. I don’t need an imaginary friend to fix me. I must help myself
since THERE IS NO GOD to wave a magic wand for me.

Alcoholics Anonymous is not part of the judicial system. We do not work
with the courts or the police department. We do not ask the courts to send
people to us. When people do show up with court papers, we are not
responsible for making sure the people are sober.

If a judge, court, school, or employer has sent you to AA meetings, it is
because they believe there is evidence that you have a drinking problem. We
had nothing to do with their decision-in fact, AA has no opinion as to
whether you have a drinking problem or not.

here’s the thing (and … it’s really funny!) no one can PROVE whether you
went to the AA meeting or not! It’s ANONYMOUS!! So, when people get SENT to
AA by the courts (which IS against their constitutional rights!!!) there’s
really NO way for “the courts” “probation officers” “LADC therapists” …
and/or … parents, teachers, preachers, friends, or foe … to ever really
KNOW if you went to the AA meeting or not.
If there’s a slip to be signed … Just use the hand you’re not accustomed
to using and write any first name and initial from A-Z that you feel like
using for the anonymous last name … Seriously. Tell your friends.
Does anyone think the judge, or a probation officer … or some lame
therapist wants to take a night off from their nightly cocktail to go to
    some anonymous, seemingly
    spiritually-minded-group-think-slogan-wracked-herd-effected-think-we’re-the-chosen-one’s-brain-washing-you-must-be-takn’-your-will-back-or-you’re-just-not-willing-or-humble-enough-to-get-this-simple-program-and-let-go-and-take-down-your-pants
    (lol!)
and … sit through an hour (sometimes longer) meeting … of anywhere from
    2 to 300 people … listening to a bunch of ego-maniacal-inferior-complexed
narcissists who’ve obviously missed the ride on the ark – however, found
God (conveniently) … and just on time, too …
to hopefully get back into the big-bed (just so they can go out and cheat
some more with some poor, miserable, vulnerable, unfortunate soul sucked-in
to believing they have to ask their sponsors permission to go to the
bathroom in the morning? (who, don’t really need to qualify as ‘alcoholic’
in front of anyone… as anyone can usually tell they’ve obviously been
through some kind of hell) …. stating: “Religion is for people who don’t
want to go to hell – spirituality is for people who’ve been there … ”
    (where was I?) oh …
to check if you’re in attendance?
    Check out: http://www.orange-papers.org/
The history of AA is astounding and goes back to communism (at best!) …
Just the FACT that one of the “Rockefellers” gave it the ‘ol thumbs-ups is
caution for any thinking person …
Congratulations on your video! I wish I knew (when i was your age) what I
know today! Go get ’em Tiger!! – peace

Young lady you’re so uptight & trying to deliver a well planned script so
badly you look like you’re sitting on the handle of a baseball bat. Oh for
goodness sake, just say what’s really going on..you screwed up – went to
court – got sent to AA..and you’re pissed they sent you there. So..what do
you do? You sure ain’t hitting the nail on the head with what’s really
happening in AA – much less have a clue as to what’s supposed to be going
on there. Going after a judge is too hard or complex to do.. so..
naturally you put up this spiel which essentially just repeats more of the
worn out/blown out of proportion stigma about AA. All you’re doing is
spilling a closely controlled little temper tantrum is about all it amounts
    to.

To any readers here…if you are in need of support & thinking about AA/NA
..go find out for yourself. Those places are as good a bet for after hours
&/or supplemental support as any of the current recovery groups. You can
bet you’re problems are nothing new to those places ..and contrary to
popular belief – you won’t be picked at or singled out .. they usually know
how tough it is to walk through those doors. If you choose not to go or
stay with 12 step groups like AA/NA .. see or call you’re local mental
health/substance abuse centers about alternatives to the spiritual methods
at 12 step groups…they are out there. You’ll be glad in the long run you
did something about it..just put a stop to the suffering.

It’s now illegal for you to be sentenced to a religious based recovery
group. One guy sued at got a hefty $2 million settlement. He did spend 100
    days in jail though.

I wonder who hurt you so bad. Watch my TV Shows on Ytube: Time to Heal
With Pam Episode 9, its my story. I have been sober 35 yrs, all I know if
it works why fix it. How long you been sober, just wondering. Just know
the program works, if you want it, as they say its not for those who need
it, its for those who WANT, if you don’t want it, why talk bad about the
    program…just saying.

  19. Brendan Jobe says

Certainly it’s a religious program and has so been declared by every court
that has ever examined the issue. Not only that, it is a poor religion.
It’s “works” (whatever the definition of “works” is) about 5% of the
time. Doing nothing “works” about 5% of the time. I’d say in order for
AA for “work” at all, it would need to rise above the spontaneous remission
    rate.

Actually she’s right. I went to an A.A. meeting last week and those people
were clearly brain-washed. When you are new to their meetings they are all
over you. One guy was proclaiming that there was no way I could ever quit
drinking without A.A. Honestly I left that depressing meeting wanting to go
and drink. But as it turns out you can quit drinking on your own without
that b.s. There’s 12 steps and 6 of them mention God, and yet none of them
tell you how to actually stop drinking.

Miss, all AA is asking you to do is to believe in a power greater than
yourself. clean up your side of the street (be RESPONSIBLE for your past
transgressions toward others), and help another alcoholic. That’s it. The
power can be anything but it must be greater than yourself. The Sun
perhaps, the Moon, the Cosmos, the great spirit of the Universe… the
Natural Law of Gravity even. Listen, the word “religion” comes from the
Latin word relegare which means “to regulate or control.” I am so anti
religion that if I thought AA was one, I would have fled years ago. And I’d
probably be dead now. You were forced into AA by a corrupt court system and
are probably not ready to hear a lot of what the book is saying. I TOTALLY
agree with you that it is unconstitutional by the way. But here’s the
thing; AA is not affiliated with them. We have no control over what they
force people to do under duress. I don’t think you committed a CRIME. If
you didn’t hurt anyone, there is no victim (Corpus Delicti) so therefore no
real crime. Your beef SHOULD be with them, not AA. But thanks for reading
the book. You have a lovely speaking voice.
